Leicester Dynamite has been coaching youth, senior, and community players from around Leicestershire since 1997.

Leicester Dynamite develops leaders - on and off the basketball court. We focus on competitive basketball excellence while instilling key life skills.
From community training to national champions, our club raises the aspirations and awareness of players from all backgrounds and of all abilities.

Leicester Dynamite runs competitive and non-competitive training for junior and adult players at venues around the city.

The Leicester Dynamite Senior Team has a strong record of regional success.
Playing in the Leicestershire Basketball League Division 1, the side were Champions in 2022, 2024, and 2025. They finished as runners up in 2023.
Our Senior Team plays and trains from Beaumont Leys School.
Matches are played on Tuesday nights and try-outs are open to players aged over 18.
Our Community Basketball sessions are open to all players and all abilities - regardless of whether you’re new to basketball or looking to improve your game.
We focus on fun, skill development, teamwork, and game play in a positive and supportive environment. Sessions run on Saturdays at WQE College and on Thursdays at Moat Community College, both in Leicester.
We also run a series of basketball camps during school holidays - giving junior players the opportunity to get active, socialise, and enjoy basketball in their community.

Creating an environment where young people are encouraged to try, make mistakes, and try again.

Using team sport and shared standards to instil resilience, respect, and responsibility in young players.

Providing structured coaching in basketball fundamentals, from footwork and ball-handling to teamwork and communication.

Leicester Dynamite was founded by former Leicester Riders and GB Power forward Dave Harris.
Dave recorded 1,626 rebounds in his Riders career - still an all-time club record. He was named Volunteer of the Year by Basketball England in 2025.
Dave is supported by an experienced and dedicated team of coaches who are committed to developing well-rounded players both on and off the court.
Several members of our coaching team have played at a high level, including representing Great Britain and playing college basketball in the United States.
Many of our coaches themselves progressed through our Young Heroes pathway, staying on with the club in order to give back to the next generation of players.
